M249 SAW

The M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW) is the American adaptation of the Belgian FN Minimi, a lightweight machine gun produced by FN Herstal. The M249 is manufactured in the U.S. and is commonly utilized by the U.S. Armed Forces. In 1984, the weapon was introduced after being named the most effective automatic firepower within a small unit. The gun combines the firing capability of a machine gun with the precision and portability of a rifle.
