Thompson
General John T. Thompson designed the Thompson, commonly known as the Tommy GunĀ. It was considered a wartime model of the popular M1 because of its cost efficiency. That was the last military Thompson submachine gun to be produced. In 1971, the U.S. military discontinued use of the Thompson M1A1, ending 33 years of service.
